Self Tanner vs. Jen: Volume 1

Last night I did something.  I succumbed to my sanity and tried self tanner.  Some would ask "Why?" and all I can tell you is, I blame YouTube and beauty influencers with long tanned legs. You see, it started with tan lines on my stomach. Since having kids my stomach hasn't seen the light of day, and it legit startles me every time I take a shower and have to face myself in the mirror. I figured a self tanner would help solve that problem and I set out for product reviews, DIY strategies, and tips and tricks. Which then led me to YouTube. Which then led me to Instagram. Which then led me to hashtags. Which then led me to realize Jergens is still around and hey, a newish (to me at least) product: foam! I could have gone for the gradual self tan lotion that Jergens is so famous for, but no, I went straight for the big guns. If you're gonna do something, you have to be all in. No "gradual tan" BS I told myself. So a few nights ago, I tested the self tanner on m

Weight Watchers Progress (Week 4)

I haven’t blogged in two whole days! It wouldn’t be so bad except I CHALLENGED MYSELF TO BLOG FOR 365 DAYS STRAIGHT. 🤦‍♀️

Oh well, I suck at the follow-through, but if I hadn’t challenged myself, I literally wouldn’t be blogging at all, so I guess I can’t be too hard on myself! Also, my son is at his second tutoring session for the week, and I have some time to kill, so blogging it is!

This week I’ve gotten back on track with Weight Watchers. My friend and I joined about four weeks ago, and I’ve lost about 5.6 pounds so far (as of January 30). It’s probably the most amount of weight I’ve ever lost in such a short time. I’m thrilled with my progress so far. My goal is to shed 25 pounds this year. Normally I would have said oh I want to lose 25 pounds in 4 months but I know that I don't' lose weight that fast. And, I'm most likely to keep it off if it comes off slow and steady. So my ultimate goal for 2020 is to lose 25 pounds and maintain the weight loss for the year (and beyond). If I can shed about 15 pounds by May, that would be ideal (I’m in a wedding and want to feel awesome in my dress), but again, no pressure, I'll take what I can get!

One thing I’ve learned on this one-thousandth round of Operation Lose Weight for Good...is that Weight Watchers is probably the most balanced approach to healthy eating I’ve ever tried. And tracking everything I eat really does help keep me accountable every day. From portion control to treats and BLTs when I’m cooking (bites licks and tastes), tracking my food in the app is really helping to keep me focused on my goal.

I'm not a Weight Watchers ambassador and I get nothing for sharing my opinions about the program. But if you're interested in joining, you can click on this special link (it's my refer a friend link) and if you sign up, we both get one free month of the online program. Have questions? Send me a message in the comments below and we can chat :)

What's your tried and true method for keeping the pounds off and sticking to a healthy lifestyle? I could use all the help I can get so keep the advice coming in the comments below!
