CurrentlyJen's Friday Favourites - February 25, 2023

I'm a day late for Friday Favourites. Which I feel like is basically my whole life these days...perpetually late for the important stuff (thank you anxiety), and early for the shit that doesn't matter.  Well, let's get right into it. My week was BUSY AF but I did manage to squeeze in a few moments that brought me joy!  Here's my take on Friday Faves...things that made me happy this week: It was Family Day here on Monday in Ontario (stat holiday). We spent the weekend filled with family gatherings, friend visits, dinners, movies, etc. So by Monday, we were all tapped out. The day was a much-needed pyjama and chill day for all of us. Those days are my favourite. Saturday night fun with the hubby I had to go to the office on Tuesday for my in-person work day. It was nice to see everyone but I was tired by the end. I don't think I'll ever get used to so much socializing again...how did I do it five days a week pre-pandemic?? I'll never know! In-office obligatory

Weight Watchers Progress (Week 4)

I haven’t blogged in two whole days! It wouldn’t be so bad except I CHALLENGED MYSELF TO BLOG FOR 365 DAYS STRAIGHT. 🤦‍♀️

Oh well, I suck at the follow-through, but if I hadn’t challenged myself, I literally wouldn’t be blogging at all, so I guess I can’t be too hard on myself! Also, my son is at his second tutoring session for the week, and I have some time to kill, so blogging it is!

This week I’ve gotten back on track with Weight Watchers. My friend and I joined about four weeks ago, and I’ve lost about 5.6 pounds so far (as of January 30). It’s probably the most amount of weight I’ve ever lost in such a short time. I’m thrilled with my progress so far. My goal is to shed 25 pounds this year. Normally I would have said oh I want to lose 25 pounds in 4 months but I know that I don't' lose weight that fast. And, I'm most likely to keep it off if it comes off slow and steady. So my ultimate goal for 2020 is to lose 25 pounds and maintain the weight loss for the year (and beyond). If I can shed about 15 pounds by May, that would be ideal (I’m in a wedding and want to feel awesome in my dress), but again, no pressure, I'll take what I can get!

One thing I’ve learned on this one-thousandth round of Operation Lose Weight for Good...is that Weight Watchers is probably the most balanced approach to healthy eating I’ve ever tried. And tracking everything I eat really does help keep me accountable every day. From portion control to treats and BLTs when I’m cooking (bites licks and tastes), tracking my food in the app is really helping to keep me focused on my goal.

I'm not a Weight Watchers ambassador and I get nothing for sharing my opinions about the program. But if you're interested in joining, you can click on this special link (it's my refer a friend link) and if you sign up, we both get one free month of the online program. Have questions? Send me a message in the comments below and we can chat :)

What's your tried and true method for keeping the pounds off and sticking to a healthy lifestyle? I could use all the help I can get so keep the advice coming in the comments below!
