The First Time is Always the Hardest

September 5: A few hours ago, anxious as heck, I sat in the parking lot at my local gym, waiting. On a whim I signed up for a membership last week with some friends and tonight was my first time visiting said gym. We were taking a 30 minute #HIIT class and while I was excited to try it, I was crippled with fear and anxiety. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. My belly gets in the way of everything. I’m not bendy in any way. Like at all! And, I have hip issues. I hate being watched.  My anxiety made me get to the gym 40 minutes early. Scared I’d be late. Scared to show up after the class started. Everyone looking at me. So I sat in the car waiting. Fretting. Beating myself up for letting myself “go” all these years. If I had stayed in shape, I wouldn’t be scared I’d throw up in front of everyone. I fretted until the very last minute before the class started. Friday Five's: Fashion, Sales, Workouts and Serious Yummy Eats

Welcome to Currently Jen's Friday Five's! Here's what I'm crushing on this week...

1. Old Navy Canada has been having a massive clearance sale and I'm loving these Jersey Swing Dresses. I have about 7 of them already - but my black one (duh) and this navy polka dot one are my favourites. Click here to check out the collection.

2. Speaking of sale's, Children's Place Canada is having a crazy sale too. Graphic tees are on sale, $3.99 and up. Currently in my shopping car: this for my daughter, and this for my son.

3. Have you all heard of Blogilates? I've been following Casey for YEARS but have always been intimidated by her workouts. But since we are on quarantine still, and I really need to move my tush, I thought I should try her 14-Day Quarantine Workout Plan. By the looks of day one "Quarantine Cardio" I already knew I wouldn't be able to feel my legs the following day. But to find out how I actually did with this workout, you'll have to tune back in here in two weeks!

4. Ummm I guess I can't really workout and not eat healthy too right? Otherwise what's the point. So, I'm going to attempt to make these 5-ingredient bagels by Skinnytaste. There are variations for gluten-free versions so I can't wait to test it out.

5. This baked potato dinner board from the Reluctant Entertainer. So good. I will have to do this the next time I have family or friends over.
